Four point parabolic interpolation

چکیده
Lachance. M.A. and A.J. Schwartz. Four point parabolic interpolation, Computer Aided Geometric Design 8 (1991) 143-149. We show that four points in the plane may be interpolated by one or two parabolas or possibly by no parabola, depending on the configuration of points. We provide methods for distinguishing the cases and constructing the parabolas.

Interpolating sampled contours in 3D: perturbation analyses
In four experiments, observers interpolated parabolic sampled contours confined to planes in three-dimensional space. Each sampled contour consisted of eight visible points, placed irregularly along the otherwise invisible parabolic contour. Observers adjusted an additional point until it fell on the contour. We sought to determine how each visible point influenced interpolation by measuring th...
متن کاملImplementation and Performance
An earlier paper introduced the theoretical background for digital interpolation in a data receiver and described an interpolator control method. Here we report properties of a specific class of interpolators that are based upon polynomials. Several implementations are described, one of which is particularly convenient in practical hardware. Simulations demonstrate that simple interpolators giv...
متن کاملExergy Optimization Applied to Linear Parabolic
A new method of optimization on linear parabolic solar collectors using exergy analysis is presented. A comprehensive mathematical modeling of thermal and optical performance is simulated and geometrical and thermodynamic parameters were assumed as optimization variables. By applying a derived expression for exergy efficiency, exergy losses were generated and the optimum design and operating co...
متن کاملAlgorithms for implementing roots, inverse and inverse roots in hardware
In applications as in future MIMO communication systems a massive computation of complex matrix operations, such as QR decomposition, is performed. In these matrix operations, the functions roots, inverse and inverse roots are computed in large quantities. Therefore, to obtain high enough performance in such applications, efficient algorithms are highly important. Since these algorithms need to...
متن کاملOn Carleman estimates for elliptic and parabolic operators. Applications to unique continuation and control of parabolic equations
A. Local and global Carleman estimates play a central role in the study of some partial differential equations regarding questions such as unique continuation and controllability. We survey and prove such estimates in the case of elliptic and parabolic operators by means of semi-classical microlocal techniques. Optimality results for these estimates and some of their consequences are pre...
